Fiat presented the first image of the new pickup truck Toro, which is about to start production at the same factory of the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) concern in Brazil’s Goian, where since Jule Renegade’s jeeps since April this year.
The four-door Fiat Toro is built on a Renegade platform with a transverse engine arrangement and a permanent front-wheel drive, which means it also has a load-bearing body instead of the more conventional frame structure. There are not many details yet. For example, it is known that the length of the Toro is 4915 mm, that is, it is slightly larger than the new Brazilian pickup Renault Duster Oroch (4.7 m), but 300 mm shorter than the well-known in Russia truck Mitsubishi L200. Obviously, the power units are also borrowed from Renegade: a turbo diesel 2.0 MultiJet II (170 hp) and a bio-fuel engine E-torQ 1.8 flex (130 hp on petrol and 132 hp on ethanol), a six-speed ” mechanics “and nine-step” automatic “, front and all-wheel drive. 

More information about the car Fiat will be published very soon, because it is expected that sales in Brazil will begin no later than the next February. Fiat Toro will take place in the company’s range on the step above the truck-veteran Fiat Strada on the basis of a small car Palio. But outside of South America this car is unlikely to appear.
